Last year George Tillman Jr gave us, Notorious, a movie documenting the life and death of Notorious B.I.G. Now Training Day director, Antoine Fuqua has revealed to Digital Spy that he’ll begin production on a Tupac biopic, which will begin filming as early as this September. Fuqua didn’t give any details as to who will play the main man, but said his goal is to “discover someone new.”

“It looks like we’re doing Tupac Shakur’s movie next in September, that’s what I’ve been starting up and working on now,” he said. “I’ve been working on that for a while with Morgan Creek and Jim Robinson. I just got the greenlight from him and we’re going in September. I’ve just started to prep that.”

“That’s the goal, I want to discover someone new,” he explained. “I want to discover a lot of new people if I can. Obviously I’m going to have to put some people in it that you know, just because actors have different skills. I want to go to the streets and find him anywhere he might be in the world.”

  1. Tupac was a strong characther who did alot for the music industry, his story deserves to be mortalised in a film so that people can learn alot about him. The press has tended to portray his negative issues all the time, so we look forward to seeing it.
