Singer Bruno Mars was arrested in a Las Vegas hotel on suspicion of drug possession early Sunday morning. The rising star, real name Peter Hernandez, was taken into custody at around 2.40am after being confronted in the bathroom by security officials at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, who allegedly discovered narcotics in his possession, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal

The singer was in Nevada for a pre-recorded performance at club Wasted Space for Walmart Soundcheck Risers concert series, which he attended earlier that night. Mars, who recently featured on two Billboard hit singles, B.o.B’s ‘Nothing On You’ and Travie McCoy’s ‘Billionaire,’ is set to release his debut album ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans’ on October 5.
