Don’t Be Mad At Gwyneth Paltrow, Be Mad At Jay-Z & Kanye West For Calling Their Song “N***as In Paris”!

Over the last few days I’ve read numerous blogs and publications bashing Gwyneth Paltrow for using the ‘N’ word on Twitter during a “Watch The Throne” gig in France. And by no means do I support the usage of such language, but I think the backlash is aimed at the wrong person.

The Hollywood actress – who’s BFF’s with Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce – got onstage with Jigga and Kanye West during the show and later tweeted a photo of herself standing near the rappers, with the caption “Ni**as in paris for real.”

And that’s when the outrage began. “How dare she use the N word?” Many gasped. “She should know better” a lot people said. Erm, shouldn’t Jay-Z and Kanye know better? If you’re going to name your song “N***as In Paris”, then what do you expect? She obviously didn’t mean it in an offensive way, but it’s clearly an offensive word.

I totally understand why people will say she shouldn’t have tweeted that, but what I don’t understand is that why is nobody criticizing the rappers? They’re the ones who are promoting the word like it’s ‘cool’. Let’s deal with the root of the problem. Let’s be mad at the ones who ignorantly promote the word, not just the fans who naively (and ignorantly) imitate them. I LOVE hip hop music – and Jay-Z & Kanye are two of my favourite artists – but I think it’s about time we heard less of the ‘N’ word in rap songs (especially in the songs title).

Here’s British rapper AKALA talking about why he’s decided to stop using the ‘N’ word in his lyrics.

Ever since Beyonce gave birth, the press have been on a hunt to get the first exclusive pictures of the singer and rapper hubby Jay-Z‘s first child, Blue Ivy Carter. And with the former Destiny’s Child singer now pictured out and about again since giving birth, many have been anxious to see the newest member of the Knowles-Carter clan.

Unlike selling the first pictures of their baby to OK or People Magazine (it’s not as if they need the extra money), Jay-Z has taken to his Life and Style website to unviel the first exclusive pics of their new bundle of joy, giving fans a precious insight and little glimpse of the superstar couples personal life away from the stage.

Suri Cruz and Harper Seven Beckham better watch out, because there’s a new princess in town…

Beyonce Announces Pregnancy At MTV Music Video Awards!

The ‘Single Ladies’ singer made the announcement at last nights MTV VMA‘s in Los Angeles, telling reporters her and hubby Jay are expecting their first child together.

Beyoncé – dressed in a flowing orange gown and sporting a noticeable baby bump – declared: “I have a surprise!” The star’s rep later confirmed the pregnancy to US Weekly.

At the end of her performance of ‘Love on Top’ during the show, Beyoncé unzipped the jacket she was wearing and rubbed her stomach as the crowd cheered in support.

“Tonight, I want you to stand up on your feet,” she told the audience. “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside me!”

Aww I feel so happy for Bey like she’s someone I know. A huge Congratulations to the happy couple.

Beyonce Talks Friendship, Possible Motherhood & Being A wife!

Beyonce is the cover girl for In Style magazine’s September issue and inside the pages the Single Ladies singer opens up about friendships and even hints that in the  future she may focus less on her career and more on being a wife and mother.

Here are some snippets from the interview:

On her friends
I am a girl’s girl. Women who don’t have female friends scare me. I love my friends, and I love sitting with them and listening to their stories

On her recent break and putting more focus on her marriage and kids
It was great to be a wife and travel with [my husband]. I had to turn down great things. I did it for my sanity, my life, my relationships, my nephew, my husband, my sister and my friendships. I deserved to give myself time to focus on things besides performing, filming and recording.”

When you’re young —18 or 19 — you have the energy and drive. That’s the time to work as hard as you can. Now I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children.

Destiny’s Child Unite For Kelly Rowland’s Album Launch!

Destiny’s Child fans got a little glimmer of hope this week when Beyonce KnowlesKelly Rowland andMichelle Williams all gathered together for Kelly’s album release party on Tuesday night.

The X-Factor judge released her third solo LP Here I Am, Stateside this week and guests at the New York bash included Brit singer Estelle, rapper Big Sean, model Jessica White and actress Adrienne Bailon.

Although Kelly recently said in an interview that DC will NOT be getting back together, seeing all three former members together does bring on some wishful thinking – plus it wouldn’t be the first time a celeb did a U-turn. So I still believe a reunion could be on the cards. Maybe not anytime soon, but sometime down the line (hopefully).

Beyonce Wants Kids Before She’s 40!

For those thinking that since the release of her chart-topping new album ’4′, that Beyonce may be thinking about taking a break to focus on making babies, better think again. There’s still more world domination for Queen Bee to be done before she sets her sights on motherhood. In a recent interview with Accesss Hollywood, the 29-year-old super star reveals she wants to have children before she’s 40.

Checkout some snippets from the interview:

On things she wants to accomplish before the age of 40
Before I hit the age of 40, I’d love to have some children. I would love to direct, continue to learn videos and maybe by then a film, short film or documentary. I love documentaries. I just hope that I’m happy and into my children, well adjusted and still making music if that makes me happy at that time.

On the wedding in her latest video “Best Thing I Never Had”
It was a little strange and when I walked down the aisle I was like “This is kind of creepy. It’s some other man standing here.” It was really beautiful and people were all really excited like it was really my wedding. My mother was even like “Aww.” I’m like “Mom, it’s a video this is not my dress, this is not the real wedding but I think it’s just one of those moments that every woman kind of fantasizes and relives.

On the wedding dress in the video
It was an amazing Baracci dress that I saw in a window maybe a year ago and I was at the Grammy’s. It was just like a beautiful fantasy; we called and they still had the dress. The tiara was Lorraine Schwartz, it was actually a necklace she turned into that crazy crown. I felt like a queen.

On going to prom
I didn’t go to [my] prom but I did go to a prom and I didn’t know anyone there so it wasn’t really interesting but being able to put on the dark hair, I just felt like I was going back in my time warp. It was really nice.

Matthew Knowles Opens Up About Beyonce Theft Allegations!

Matthew Knowles has broken his silence and is speaking out for the first time about the claims he stole money from his super star daughter Beyonce.

During an interview with the associated press, the music manager denies any wrong doing, questioning the integredy of Beyonce’s new team and revealed he hasn’t spoken to the Single Ladies singer since she fired him a few months ago.

“We absolutely have not taken any money from Beyoncé, and all dollars will be accounted for,” he told the AP in aninterview. “In no way have we stole money. Again, this about the people who have made these claims—they have to come into the light.”

He went on to reveal he holds no grudge towards his daughter, but questions her new teams motives: “The relationship with Beyoncé is extremely amicable. I want to make that clear. Where there’s concern is the people that she’s doing business with,” he explained. “I’m challenging all of these folks on integrity, professional integrity.

“She changed almost every aspect of her business,” he said. “The team ironically appeared to be a cross-pollination of Beyoncé’s team, Roc Nation’s team, and Live Nation’s team, who ironically have the most to gain.”

Beyonce’s Dad Denies Steeling From His Daughter!

A few months ago Beyonce and her father parted ways, shocking many in the industry, as Matthew Knowles had managed his superstar daughter’s career from the very beginning.

Now the real reason for the farther/daughter break up has come to light, after Matthew filed legal documents which reveal the real reason he’s no longer managing the ‘Single Ladies’ singer is because Beyonce is under the impression he stole lots of money from her.

According to the documents, Mathew alleges Live Nation Entertainment wanted to take a lot of money from Beyonce’s 2011 world tour, but Live Nation told Beyonce that Mathew, “had stolen money from Beyonce on her most recent tour or otherwise taken funds that [he] was not entitled to.”

Beyonce took notice of the loss of money and had an audit conducted, which came to the conclusion Mathew was stealing money from her, causing Beyonce to fire her father.

Matthew is denying all the allegations and wants a judge to get involed in order to clear his name.

It’s such a shame when families are torn apart over money. Hopefully these guys can sort this mess out without having to go to court.

Beyonce Live @ Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London: The Review!

She's got the moves: Beyoncé last night performing at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London for the UK launch of her fourth solo album, 4

On Monday night, a mere 24 hours after her triumphant Glastonbury performance, Beyonce took to the stage  at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire, for a secret gig to celebrate the release of her debut album ‘4’ (which was released the same day). But there were no signs of any Glasto hangover and the sultry singer put on a phenomenal pitch-perfect, vibrant energetic set.

After a slightly lengthy wait, which only got the crowd even more amped, the 29-year-old songstress came out in a yellow tasseled mini dress, accompanied with her trademark curly blond hair – which was theatrically blowing from the wind machine – and was greeted to a frenzied reception.

The multi-Grammy winner looked flawless and was evidently still buzzing from the previous night. “I’m still high from yesterday,” she told the crowd at the relatively intimate show and then thanked the audience for their continuous support over the past 15 years, before opening her exclusive set with latest single ‘Who Run The World (Girls)’.

Belting it out: Beyoncé sang a number of tracks from her new album 4

The west London venue was full of some of the former Destiny’s Child stars biggest fans, as well as a number of A-list pals, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Adele, Jessie J (who arrived on crutches), Tinie Tempah, Alexandra Burke, Ed Sheeran, Fashion designers Stella McCartney and Tom Ford, mother Tina Knowles and Hubby Jay-Z, who all cheered on from the first floor balcony.

Beyonce continued her breathtaking set with new tracks ‘Best Thing I Never Had’,  ‘1+1’ and ‘End Of Time’ from her fourth studio album. And unlike previous shows, there was no set-list and she even asked the crowd to help choose which songs should be sung next.

‘Irreplaceable’ was a general crowd pleaser and had the crowd loudly chanting “to the left, to the left”, whilst swaying their hands in unison. ‘Single Ladies’ was another fan favourite and had everyone two stepping.

The talented singer also did a medley of classic covers, which included a show-stopping rendition of Queen‘s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ – a performance which showed just why Beyonce’s one of the best vocalists of our time. The ‘covers section’ also included Prince’s ‘The Beautiful Ones’ and Kings Of Leon’s ‘Sex On Fire’. The set was closed with a powerful version of ‘Halo’, which was a perfect encore to a (pitch) perfect show.

Accompanied by a full live band and backing dancers who were vibrant and lively, Beyonce gave a no holds barred energetic A+ performance. And despite dancing her heart out, her vocals didn’t glitch once. It’s clear to see just why this Independent Woman is one of the biggest stars of our generation.

Beyonce’s ‘4’ album is out now.

Beyonce Talks Love & Jay-Z With Piers Morgan!

Piers Morgan and Beyoncé

The notoriously private Beyonce gave a candid interview with Piers Morgan, where she opened up about love, Jay-Z, having babies and turning 30. The superstar singer, who gave an epic performance at Glastonbury on Sunday, followed by and equally smashing performance in London last night, revealed that both her and Jay want to avoid any scandal and be known purely for their music, instead of their relationship. When asked about her relationship with the rap icon, she admitted: “Jay and I have kind of made a decision that we want to be known for our music and not our relationships or scandals.

“We’ve been together for a very long time and I’m very happy,” she said. “Love is the foundation of everything I do.

“My music is inspired by love – from my family, my husband, my sisters. It gives me the security and confidence that you see on the stage.”
